Note: Teacher’s Pet For The Month is too long to write out, so it will be shortened to Teacher’s Pet.1

Teacher’s Pet was first written for a contest. It was a contest that asked us to praise someone. I can’t right stories that are too happy or I’ll go nuts. So, I had to add some action.2

Teacher’s pet is about a crippled young girl who is unpopular, but succeeds in winning student of the month of her fifth grade class. The classmates most of them were unhappy about this and did caused a bit of havoc.3

Teacher’s Pet is a moralistic story that I hope everyone learns from.4

Teacher’s Pet was written on May 26, 2010. It was probably during one of the most stressful month and a half this year.5

Most if not all of my reviews on this is positive. I might have stretched a few things, however.6

Teacher’s Pet has only Won one trophy and not from the original contest that inspired it.7

What I am surprised at and something that I have thought about from time to time, is that Tatters, seems to be a Mary Sue on the surface. He doesn’t have too many flaws. If you dig deeper though you might find one. 8

Teacher’s Pet was inspired by my elementary school days combined with the name Teacher’s Pet in sixth grade. I was a teacher’s favorite for a year. I constantly was called the teacher’s pet. People didn’t like me because they considered me as a person who sucked up to other people in order to impress them.9

Christine or I like to call her Chrissy since we are so connected now, is based off myself. I also have a disability. I didn’t want to run off of blindness so I made her crippled.10

Christine was first a smart, strong, talented, and good girl. She was naïve though. However, as time progressed I realized that Christine could not possibly be strong or rather she couldn’t appear so in that scene. Any one could and would as strong as they are break down in cases of extreme amounts of bullying and humiliation.11

Jack was inspired by my bullies. They were cruel and terrifying. Once when I was in public a kid felt it necessary to spit on me. I’ve been pushed around and teased. Some even took my stuff an laughed when I couldn’t find them. I dealt with it okay, but many do not. In some cases I couldn’t handle it, the spitting episode for example.12

In teacher’s Pet I tried to teach a few lessons. The bullying served to teach two. One was that kids are not the most innocent and perfect angels many like to say they are. They can be rather cruel and insensitive. Being a kid is not a determining factor. Also, that bullying is not good and how it effects people. A lot of the bullying when I was in elementary school makes me the person I am today. A bit defensive and bitter. I also tried to make the point that maybe favorite students or students of the month is a good idea, but with little children it may not be. The intention is good, but it causes problems, hatred, and bullying.13

I had a few names for Jack at the beginning. James, Jim, Robert, and Jack were all options. James I got the idea from bad or troublemakers from different books such as Harry potter: James Potter and Atlas Shrugged: James Taggart. Jim is a variant or nickname to James so I thought Jim was good as well. I knew several Roberts and all of them were going in to the Marines or the Army. One was on fictionpress, and I liked his moralistic rants. The other was a neighbor who lived across from me when I was in elementary school. I don’t think I knew the Robert who was my neighbor, I am sure, I remember her sister Molinda told me when I asked about her family that Rob was going to go across seas. I am guessing it was Iraq. I don’t remember exactly. I got the name Jack from Lord Of The Flies.14

Mr. Tatters was inspired by a few kind people including two science teachers and a man named Charles.15

Memorable quotes to me *ask about them in the comments if you wish. They are all fairly deep and has a story behind them.): 16

"Jack, do you wish to come up and say ten good things about Christine? Maybe you can come up and inform the class why she deserves student of the month.” Tatters17

"Christine, don't worry too much about what they have to say, they are only kids that have no idea how to behave themselves. And, are jealous that I like you and that I care about you. I care for all my students but they don't seem to realize it. I am glad you do, and can appreciate me, because I really do like you. I really do care for you and your grade. which is the best one I have this year. You have really outdone yourself. You are a very good student, and a good worker. You'll make it big out there," He said gently, "You are a charming young girl too and I am sure many will like you. You are so polite. I wish the rest of the students were more like yourself." Tatters 18

“Everyone was teamed up except me, no one wanted to do anything with the crippled girl, of course.” Cristine19

"why that loser! She's no fun anyways! She's so gay that she'll be living with her mother and wearing diapers forever!” Jack Rusty.20

“I'll tell my mom and say you're being mean!” Jack Rusty21
